Tithing is a process of giving to receive.
The trick is that when you give you ask for what you want to receive, and then when you receive you accept it gladly and adjust what you give in the future based on what you receive.
Eventually the goal is to understand that giving and receiving are the same thing. What a concept.
You can start by just giving a few cents or dollars to a cause that you feel good about, or that you want to see more of in the world. If your not sure what to give to, then anything that supports children is a for sure good investment.
Then when you are able to give more, make sure you put it in your budget. Eventually you will be able to give 1%, then 5%, then 10%, of your income, and if you really want to reap the benefits and your budget can handle it, think about giving 20%, 30%, even 50%. Thats about how much Warren Buffet gives.
Remember to make sure that as your income increases, the total amount you give needs to increase as well so that the percentage doesn’t go down, so be modiste with what you spend on your own needs.
Tithing can be looked at as a science, and to get good at it, one needs to stick with it, and keep practicing.
